Baby Skirts!

Here are two different skirts I made this afternoon for a friends baby shower. They didn't turn out like I imagined, but I guess they look ok. Plus, they were really easy and fast to make. I made the Jean one out of an old jean leg. I found the tutorial here. The white one I made out of a mens white t-shirt. Found here. I think next time I will make the ruffles bigger. I didn't have time to wash it before the shower tonight, but it might make it look better and curl the edges to give it shabby chic look.
I can't wait to find out what I am having so I can start sewing some baby stuff for my little one!

12 weeks

1st trimester is now over!!!! I'm showing more than I would like for 12 weeks but I still can wear most of my regular clothes. Though I do wear maternity pants to work. Only because all of my dress pants are maternity. I am not buying new pants for a month or so. I am still running. I wear a belly band to help support my belly and since I had problems last pregnancy will my abs splitting at 4 months and lots of back pain. I hope this helps. I have not thrown up once in my first trimester, but now that I've hit week 13 I've thrown up my breakfast every morning. After that I feel much better. Though, it not fun when you are puking and driving to work at the same time. I know gross!!! I've only gained 5lbs. I'm proud of that. Last pregnancy I gained 50 lbs. I'm not planning on doing that again!!! I was really tired this trimester, but now have more energy. I', looking forward to the 2nd trimester because I'll have more energy, but I know I will be getting huge!!! I always look 8 months at 6 months. I get a big belly fast and then it stops growing for the most part. I hope to continue running for a few more month, or until we hit freezing temp. Then I might change to swimming.

Just Tri It!!!

Last week I did a mini women triathlon!!! It was so much fun!!!! I wish I would have trained more for it, but it seemed like I never had time. But it was a really mini race. No timer, no age group, you did your own thing. You swam 100 yd. in the lake. Which we were a little nervous would be cold. The temp. was 66 when I left for the race. In fact a lady asked the guy in charge if the lake was heated, and the guy told us.."Yes, all the guys here jumped in the lake and "did their thing" to warm it up for you!" Now, that really made me want to jump in that lake a swim. Now this was the first time I had done any swimming in at least 3 years!!! I was harder than I thought, but wasn't too bad. After that we biked. You got to pick 2,4, or 6 miles. Now, the first time I pulled out my bike in three year was the Thursday before the race. So during the race my rear was still really sore. I wish I would have trained more. So you did a 2 mile loop and you got to decide how many times you wanted to ride it. I'm ashamed to say that I only rode it once. I was planning on more, but I was also planning one my rear not being sore! Of course they had a huge long hill, that half the people walked up. This thing lasted forever!!! Oh, and they also didn't tell you that from where you park your car to where you check in was 2 miles. You you biked 2 miles in before the race and 2 miles out after! So I did bike 6 miles total!!!! Notice that in the picture my hair is crazy!!! That's because it was also very windy! This picture was taken by the person that was parked next to me. I went to the race by myself, but I wanted at least one picture. So this was taken after the race. Then came the run. This was easy you got to pick again what distance you wanted to do. Either 1/2 mile, a mile, or 1 1/2 miles. I did the mile and a half. I was tired when I was done, but I have lots of fun. Between the bike and run I have to hit the restrooms, because being pregnant I have to go all the time!!! That was a big mistake! They stank so bad I almost lost my breakfast. It was bad!!! I am glad a didn't though, it would have made it hard to run on an empty stomach.
I had a lot of fun, but I wish I would have trained more! I am going to do it next year!! Plus, it make me want to try a long triathlon!!! So maybe after this baby comes out I'll do a marathon and a triathlon!!! um.... we'll see!!
