Big brother update- July

We went with a group of friends to the zoo. Wesson loved it!!! We have not been in a year or so. He is definitely more interested in the animals now! This is the only picture I got of him running through the Jungle.
Wesson still loves his little brother. He has now discovered it's not so exciting to throw away the dirty diapers, or to hook up Mommy's breast pump every time. But He loves to make his brother smile and if he is fussy I will find him talking to him to keep him happy until I get there.
Wesson has been really into music and different instruments. He loves playing different ones at Grandma's house. His favorite is still to sit at the piano with the book open to the song he wants and to play and sing at the same time. He even knows what are chords and which song do not have chords and will play the left hand differently for the different songs. It's really interesting to watch him play.

Aunt Alisa cut his hair, so he has a nice new  cut!
He was playing with Barrett and I wanted to take a picture of both of them. So I said, "Wesson, put your head down next to Barrett so I can get a picture of both of you." This is what I got.

Wesson loves playing with his brother. Barrett was having tummy time, so Wes came over and started playing trains next to him. Of course Barrett can't play trains... so he gave him a necklace to play with instead.

Barrett 3 month update

Barrett has decided that he really likes his lovey. I'm not one to have my kids have one. Wesson doesn't have anything that he HAS to sleep with, which is really nice. But Barrett really likes soft material. He rubs it all over his face and will basically just fall asleep. It's really nice. Now I just need to find more than one, so I don't get in trouble later.
While we were on vacation Barrett was acting really fussy like his tummy was bothering him and we couldn't figure it out for several days. Finally we realized that we were feeding him spoiled milk! The water at the time share was either super hot or cold. So as we heated up the bottles it would spoil the milk as we warmed it up.
Also while we were on vacation he rolled over several times one night and hasn't done it since.
Barrett is also always constipated. Every time I want him to poop (about 10 days) I have to make him poop. He never poops by himself. Poor boy! I have a doctor's appointment next week to see if we can figure something out.
He is still such a good baby. He sleeps from 9pm until 6 Am most days. I do usually dream feed him (which he still sleeps through) around 10:30. After my last pumping. He then will go back to sleep for an hour or so. Then takes a nap around 10 , 1, and 5 for an hour or so.
He loves being talked to and will smile at anyone.
He also attended the zoo for his first time. He basically slept the whole time!
We got his bouncer out for him to play in. Since he loves to stands.
He loves it!!
He is enjoying tummy time a little bit more.
He love to play on his play mat and hit all the toys. Thanks Mel!
On a side note, he is finally losing his hair. Wesson was bald by this time and a lot chubbier.
See!
Wesson at 3 month.

Sunburn

Here is a conversation I had with Wesson while we were pretend talking on the phone to each other.

Me- Hello? Who is this?
Wes- It's me Wesson.
Me- Hi! What should we do today?
Wesson- We should go to the park!
Me- Don't you know it really hot outside? The slides will burn your legs! (The heat index is 110 degrees)
Wesson- Mommy! That is why you put sunscreen on! So it won't burn my legs!
Me- Really!?! Is that how it works?
Wesson- Yes, you just rub it on my legs like this (rubs his legs). See no burns!!!

Wesson's new thing to do is to pull the pacifer out of Barretts mouth while he is sleeping take it over to his bed and play with it!! It drives me crazy!!!And it wakes Barrett up!!! Any suggestions on how to stop it.

Colorado Part 3

Thursday we went on our long hike. Here is the beginning group. After about the first mile half of them, mostly the little kids turned back. They spent their day riding the city bus to a toy store, walking around town, playing at the park and with each other. Kent did not go at all. He had a hard time breathing in the high altitude and he left his inhaler at home. Plus he still was working on his paper. It was due the following day. So he stayed home with Barrett.
Here is the group the finished the hike. It was a beautiful hike!!! The first part was a lot of up hill, then it flatted out and was a perfect hike.
We followed the river the whole time. Camilla and I were hiking buddies. We walked slower then everyone because we were constantly stopping to take pictures.
Here is my brother being my brother.

On Friday we rented bikes and bike trailers for a day. The bused us up to the top of a pass and then we biked 14 miles down! It was so beautiful! We followed the river most of  the way. Most of the time I rode my breaks because we were going so fast and we had some sharp turns we had to make.

Here is Wesson ready for his first bike ride. We took Laina with us, because me sister couldn't go due to being pregnant.
We stopped at the lake and the boys had to throw rocks in the lake!
Kent got to pull the kids in the bike trailer. I was glad because there were several miles where it was flat and you acctually had to pedal. I rode a bike once in the last 10 years!
After we finished our bike ride we went home for lunch and then went back and did it again!! 28 miles in one day!!! My rear was feeling it! And the tops of my hands, I forgot to put sunscreen there.

This time when we stopped at the lake we Kayaked some.
There we cooled down in the pool later that evening. What a beautiful day!

The next day we packed up and headed home!

Colorado Part 2

On Tuesday we went on a beautiful hike. It was muddy due to the fact we got snow the day before.
Since Wesson does not like getting dirty. Which includes his new tennis shoes we just bought him. This is how he hiked most of the time.
Barrett just loved hanging out in the front pack and was very happy or sleeping the whole time.
This was the lake we hiked up to. It was very pretty. No boats, because you would have to hike them up the trail with you. I think it was called "Rainbow Lake".
ON the way down my brothers spent the whole time flinging trees, or breaking them down on accident.
Wednesday the boys went white water rafting. They did all class 4 and 5 rapids. The water was so cold that the guide was commenting the the water is.... between solid and not solid. Or between freezing and cold. It was 34 degrees.
While the boys were rafting the girls hit the outlet malls that were in town. All three of them!! I got some good deals.

Stumped

Last night while we were watching fireworks Wesson asked me "What are fireworks made of?" It stumped me for a while and Kent jumped in and answered it for me. Then today he asked me "What are Wii remotes made of?" I told him "wire, batteries, buttons, and plastic. But you should ask you Uncle Levi about that." I don't think Wesson was very impressed with my answer. I'm afraid what he will ask me tomorrow.  He will grow up thinking that his mom doesn't know anything!! Where does he come up with questions like these?!?!

5 Years of Bliss!!

In the middle of June Kent and I celebrated our 5th Wedding anniversary!!! I can't believe we have been married so long! I fall more in love with him everyday and I look forward to Forever with him!!!

Colorado Part 1

So Saturday we drove 7ish hours to Dillon, Co. Kent and Wesson drove with my dad and Levi in his truck and it was my mom and I with Dasha and Barrett in my car. Barrett did great and slept most of the time, wake up to eat, play for a bit and then back to sleep. On the way we stopped in Denver and picked up Camilla, Kaylene, and Lania. When we got to our condo we unpacked and got dinner ready. My sister Kaylene is 7 months pregnant so I took Lania and put her in the bath with Wesson.
As you can see we didn't have an bath toys, so I let them play with my breast pump parts, knowing that I would be cleaning them later. Since it's really hard to clean then at rest stops.
They seemed to really enjoy them as bath toys. It was also my dad's birthday, so we had cake and ice cream.

Since we were in Colorado for Father's Day I just made Kent some cute cheesy things. I wrapped a giant Hersey Bar in a paper wrap that looks like a Ipad, and a bottle of AW rootbeer that says  "You're an AWsome dad!"
We found a church house to attend church at. We only stayed for Sacrament
meeting because all of the were tired from traveling all day and Lania ended up with high fever that lasted for 3 days. But it was so pretty that we decided to take some family pictures.
We then went to Irving's place, they stayed a.s a family in Breckenridge, Co ( about a half hour away). We put the kids down for a nap and played a forever long game of Knights of Catan. We then went  back to our place had dinner and played some more games.

The place we stayed had three bedrooms so my little family all got  to share one room. Which isn't a problem because Barrett and Wesson are both good sleepers and don't like to sleep with Kent and I. But the room had a twin bed with a trundle that pulled out. So we pushed the two together and Kent and I slept on that. But it took up the whole room!!! So Wesson slept in the closet on his sleeping bag.
( sorry I didn't flip the pic)
It was the perfect size for him.
The room had one dresser at the end of the bed, so in the corner we laid blankets down and Barrett slept in the corner.
Also while we were there it was finals week for Kent. So he had a 10 page paper to write as well as a test to take. So he spent a lot of time in the room doing homework.

On Monday we woke up to SNOW!!!
It was about an inch or so, but it was really wet and basically  melted by the afternoon.

After nap time a couple of us drove into Frisco, which is 6miles away and walked around the town to see what there was.
We found some parks that we later returned to. Since during our walk the sky turned dark and it looked like it was going to pour on us. We did take some cute pictures.
Here are a few of my sisters. Camilla, Dasha, me, and Kaylene.
(Barrett is in the  sling)
This was also the first time that a lot of my family got to meet Barrett.
Here is what Barrett thinks of his Aunt Camilla....

No really...... Camilla is the only one to get Barrett to laugh. No one, even Kent and I can not get Barrett to laugh as well as he did on several occasion for Camilla. I guess she is the favorite!!!

More on our vacation coming soon!!!
