Good Bye truck!!!

So yesterday this is what Kent did to his truck! Well... it wasn't his fault. An old 80 year old man, who could hardly walk, pulled out in front of him! Funny thing.... the old man's name was Rollin C. Olds. Kent is pretty banged up. He is covered in bruises, broken blood vessels, and cuts. At least he came out ok. Thankfully he was wearing his seat belt which prevented more harm. His truck is totaled, so now we have to wait and see how much money we get back to buy a new car. This is not what we wanted to do. Funny how just a few months ago we finish paying off our car. Just in time to start payments on a new one! I guess it's a good thing I don't have to work right now. Now I can take Kent to and from work everyday!

The children's Musuem!

Here is Wesson enjoying the gravel pit which is part of the Construction Theme up stairs.

They had little wheel borrows with fake rock that they could load and unload into bucket and then pull a pulley and bring them up to a platform where they could unload them down a slide back into the wheel borrows.
Wesson couldn't get close enough to the BIG tractors!!!

In the Construction Area they had blocks of all shapes and sizes. From small blocks to huge Lincoln Logs you could build a play house out of!
Here is a huge light piano that Wesson had a fun time banging on.
The favorite room is the Ball Room. This room is full of pipes and balls. The kids run around collecting balls and putting them in all kinds of opening. The ball all collect in a big container in the middle of the room. Then every so often a siren will go off and all the kids run to the center of the room where the container opens up and dumps all the balls on the kids head!

Here is Wesson waiting for the balls to drop!
They also have places where you can pump, stomp, and pound things for balls to do different things.
Here a group shot from when we went for work. You can see all the different pipes in the back ground! Very cool!

Projects!!!! From last week!

So....I went a little crazy doing sewing projects last week. Here are the project I finished and did last week. This is a comforter I made for Wesson's bed. He out grew all of his infant blankets and it was time I made a bigger blanket for his bed. He is in love with firetrucks right now, so I found some cute firetruck material and matched it up with a cute red and white polk a dot material and then machine quilted it all together with some batting in between.

Here is the blanket on his bed. I decided now I need to make a cute pillow case for his bed that matches.

Here is the skirt I was making for Easter. But I didn't finish it until last week, so It was just in time for Mother's Day. I like it. It's look a lot more flattering on me instead the hanger. But I don't have a tripod, so this is what you get. It has a side zipper, but due to complications my mom put the zipper in.
These are the towels and hot pads I made for my mom and Mother in Law for Mother's Day (sorry if you see this before you get it) I used some left over material and ribbon that I had laying around and I bought the towels. For the inside of the hot pads I used several layers of an old sweater cut up in squares. I thought it turned out cute. I even put ribbons on it so it would stay on the oven and not keep falling off. I told Kent this is what I wanted for Mother's Day and I wanted him to make me some. He just looked at me, and told me to dream on.

Here are some burp rags I made for a baby shower. I try to keep a pack of cloth diapers on hand to make burp cloths. Then I just use scraps of ribbon and material I have. Ta-Da! Fast gifts for a last minute shower!

Then I made some slings. 3 of them! One I added in my baby shower gift and another one I gave to my sister in law. Then I just have an extra on hand right now. I love these slings! They go together so fast and easy! Plus every time you buy fabric for one, you get enough fabric for 2 slings!

Here is a cute ruffle butt oneies I made for my cute little niece Lania. For when I go to AZ on Friday!!! These are really fast to made too. This was my first one! I think it turned out pretty cute!

No.... I don't have any sewing projects lined up for this week. This week is devoted to packing and last min. errands I have left to do. I got all my projects out of the way last week. Though I do have some like this in mind in making as a card for my sister's wedding ......
Nice hun...... (yes, this is the card I made Kent for Valentine's Day!)

Play Kitchen

I'm finialy posting pictures of the play kitchen I made for Wesson for Christmas. I made it over at my parents, because painting and everything doesn't work in an apartment. So I worked really hard to have it done my Christmas, but it was stuck over at my parent's house due to all the blizzards and everything on Christmas. Then Kent didn't want to put it in the back of his truck that was full of snow. So we waited for the snow to melt and a day that wasn't rainy to bring it home. We finally got it last week, in time for Wesson's birthday.
I forgot to take a before picture, but it was all put together but falling apart and not the prettiest to look at. I pay a whopping 50cent for it! It was several different colors or wood, missing shelves, no curtain, no sick at all, no knobs, you go the idea. So I found a can or clearance paint at Walmart that would work for a boy or a girl. I found a sink to install, a bucket for the rest of the sink, a hook to hang his apron on, knobs, and I then sewed a cute little curtain to finish it up. What do you think?

Enos!

So tonight while read the Book of Mormon we got to the book of Enos. We try to have Wesson "read" a verse. He just copies what we say. Tonight that we discovered that every time he said "Enos" it came out sounding like "Penis". Kent and I had to try really hard not to laugh. I think it's going to be a long time before I can read Enos without thinking "penis" in my mind! I know!!! I'm horrible!!!
