Memorial day Picnic and a HeartAttack!!!
For Memorial Day we decided last minute to try to pull together a BBQ at the lake and do some Kayaking. No one showed up, but that was fine because it ended up being WAY too windy and by that I mean this...... We were all having lots of fun until we had a HUGE gust of wind and this happened!!!
Yes, Barrett was in the carseat when that happened (not while the picture was taken). Yes, that carseat was on top of the table on the left!!! No, Barrett was not hurt! Yes, it gave me a heart attack!!!
As you can see Barrett could have been seriously hurt if A) he was not buckled in, or B) the carseat would have landed any way but how it did!!! I don't want to imagine what could have happened if either A or B was a choice!!! It still scares me to think about how my baby could have been hurt!!! I am so thankful that everything was ok.
Needless to say.... Kent hurried and grilled out hotdogs and we left.
Here I am holding my baby after the incident. Everyone was ok.

Barrett's Blessing
On May 1st 2011 Barrett Kent was blessed by his Father. It was a beautiful blessing.
Those present: Aunt Linda, Great Grandma Thorne, Aunt Alisa, Uncle Matt , Great Grandma Lamoureaux, Grandma and Grandpa Tryon, Mommy, Daddy, Wesson, Cousin Carlee, Jenson, and Jace, Uncle David, Aunt Melissa, Aunt Jen, Uncle Carson, Grandma and Grandpa Thorne.
Here I am with my two boys.
Here is our little family. Wesson was not to happy to take pictures. He wanted to run around with his cousins instead.
We finally got a good picture of all the Thorne cousins!!!
I wanted to make Barrett's blessing outfit, but I had too much on my plate. So I let me mom take over. Part of his outfit is made with leftovers of my wedding dress. Aunt Melissa made his blanket.
It was a wonderful and beautiful weather. Thank you all for coming and sharing this event with us.

3 yr stats and 2 month stats
I took Wesson and Barrett into the doctor on the same day to have their 3 year appointment and their 2 month appointment. It went very well and had no meltdowns. Both boys cried a bit when they got their shots, but other that they were very happy. In fact, Wesson was very excited to go see Doctor Mikuls. I love my pediatrician and I'm glad me kids do too. And even my Breast specialist thinks very highly of her, so I guess I picked a good one! Well here are their stats....

One eye!
The other day I was trying to get ready head out to work in the morning and Kent was supposed to be making sure that Wesson was getting ready and eating breakfast. Well, I look into the room to find this...
Yes, he has no pants on, but Barrett is also in the crib and he looks like this!!
Wesson added his pillow, teddy bear, and also had his book on top of Barrett reading to him.
I told him "Wesson! You can't cover your bother up like that! You can't see him!"
Wesson's response to that was "You can see ONE EYE!"
Sure enough you could see one eye!
I moved the book to find this...
I guess Barrett doesn't mind his brother reading him or covering him with who knows what!!
I'm so glad that my boys love being together and they love each other!!!

Sour milk
These last two month have been crazy when it comes to breastfeeding. As you know I got Mastitis when Barrett was 2 weeks old. Now I am familiar with mastitis. I had it four times with Wesson, and finally had to stop breastfeeding when he was 8 month because they could not make it go away. Well folk.... I am now on my 3 round of mastitis this time around!! I have now had it 7 times so far!!! Way too many!!! Not only do I get mastitis all the time, but I randomly pump ounces of blood. So much blood that it hurts Barrett's tummy and his poop turns black!!! Plus it hurts like the dickens when I pump, or nurse on that side. I also still have a huge cut on that side that will not go away even with perscription breast cream. So I went and saw the lactation consulate first to make sure it's not just a latching problem, or make they could give me some answers or help with the blood, cut, or pain. My breast were constantly in pain all day long. They did find out Barrett was latching wrong. They helped me fix that. I brought with me a bag of milk that I had pumped the day before. They were shocked that came out came and had no clue what would cause that. The lactation lady called the head lady and together the consulted medical journals and could come up with answer to my problem. The called me a "learning tool". That made me feel great! I talked with them for an hour and we decided to feed off one side and pump on the side that produced blood until they came up with more answers. It I got blood dump the milk, and keep the good milk to feed the baby with. The then told me I had to talk with my doctor. Well, I had my 6 week post baby visit right after. The lactation people walked me over to my doctor and talked with my doctor and nurse before they saw me. My doctor had no answers for me. But on a good side note, I'm only 10 lbs off my pre baby weight. Also she didn't check me at all, just asked me some question and called it good. I thought that was strange. Maybe because I have my yearly check up in a few months. Anyways back to the breastfeeding. My doctor had no other answers and sent me up to have an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed nothing. (I had the same problem last time, had an ultrasound. Nothing showed up then too). So she put me on pain meds and scheduled me for another ultrasound in a week. Well and few days later I pumped blood. So I called the doctor to see if they wanted me to come in and have an ultrasound while I was bleeding. They didn't. They canceled the ultrasound. They were hoping it would not come back. And then scheduled me with a breast specialist. Went to the breast specialist and they looked around and found nothing. Well... Kent asked me how it went and I told him "oh.. I just love it when old men rub my breast, pinch my nipples, comment on how one is bigger than the other, and then tell me I have a third nipple!" Yes, this doctor was crazy. I have a mold, but this doctor is convinced it's a third nipple. Sorry if that is too much info. But I just think it's crazy!!! Basically he did nothing and told me to deal with it and either stop breastfeeding if I can't handle it or keep going. It didn't matter to him. ( I went to a specialist with my Wesson and they also said the same thing) I guess it's not that big of a deal, even though everyone else seemed concerned about it. Oh well. I got mastitis two different weekends in a row. So as soon as I heal up from mastitis I plan on drying up. I am done with it! I can't stand the high fevers, chills, aches, and throbbing chest that comes with it. I just hope I can dry up without getting it again. Wish me luck!!!
Cute story:
Saturday I woke up from nap with Mastitis- it usually will hit me a few hours after feeling sore. So I wake up and both boys were in bed with me taking a nap and I am so sick I can't get out of bed. Kent is at work and will not be home for about 2 hours. Wesson waked up and I tell him I'm sick and cold. I was having chills at the time. So he goes in his room and grabs some of his blankets and covers me up. Then brings me his teddy bear for me to cuddle. He then sent the next hour bringing books in and read to me while I doozed off and on. He never got into trouble. He decided he was hungry and found some pretzels on the the counter, brought them to me and asked if he could have some. I told him he could and he ate them very nicely on the bed. Barrett then woke up and needed to eat. Wesson impressed me so much. He went and got the pacifier for me then got the bottle out of the fridge and heated it up in a cup or warm water to the correct temp. and brought it to me to feed Barrett. I was so impressed that he knew how it do that!!! He also brought me my purse so I could make a call. I was supposed to be at a big formal art show/ fundraiser for work. I had to call and let them know I couldn't make it.
I am so thankful for such a sweet boy. I'm glad he took care of me and Barrett until his daddy could come home!!! I'm glad he didn't try to get into things or complain that he wanted something that I would have to get out of bed for. I'm glad he was happy and willing to help me with having to ask him twice. I love my boys!!! I am blessed to have them in my life. Thank you Wesson for being such a big helper and taking care of Mommy!!! I love you!!!

Mother's Day/ Birthday
Every year my birthday falls on Mother's Day or close to it. This year it fell on the day after. Because of this we tend to celebrate them both together.
This year Kent let me sleep in while he and Wesson made me breakfast. They made a wonderful breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and orange juice. The only problem was that Kent made the pancake batter with 2T of baking soda and not 2t of baking soda. Oops!!! Don't worry, he made me a delicious strawberry smoothie instead.
I was excited that Kent got me a nice little camera to carry around in my purse and diaper bag. We have a nice big camera, but it takes up a lot of space. I wanted something small that took good pictures and little space. I love the little camera!!! During nursery Wesson made me a Mother's Day gift. He was so excited to give it to me! I thought it was super cute!!!

I got jewelry and flowers!! Or in other words.... I got a fruit loop necklace and a colored pictures of flowers!!! I let Wesson eat the necklace and the picture will go in a safe place. He even colored it!!! This is a big deal, because Wesson does not color!!!
Monday we dropped the boys off at my mom's house and had a delicious dinner at Th Cheesecake Factory!!! Then when we picked up the boys we had some cake and ice cream at my parents house. It was a very nice day!!!

Barrett's first hike
My sister Charisse came in town for a quick weekend visit when Barrett was about a month old. One of the things she wanted to do while she was here was to go on a hike. Well.... since it turned out be really cold, rainy, and windy that weekend we just did a few miles around Standing Bear Lake. Here are some pictures of our hike.
Here I am with my two boys.
Charisse was kind enough to care Barrett the whole time.
Wesson loved running and chasing people. Half of the time he had a stick that he would chase you with. So you just had to walk fast enough to stay out of his reach. By the time we reached mile 2 he was worn out and cold, so Uncle Matt carried him on his shoulders.
It was a great hike except for slipping and landing with my rear on a log. That does not feel good when you just gave birth 4 weeks before! It was cold and windy, but the sun did come out for a while and the stopped blowing that it was pleasant for half of the hike. We were glad to get out of the wind when the hike was done. It was not the spring weather we were hoping for.
Barrett was a trooper and slept the whole time!! What a way to experience you're first hike!
April
.
Wesson loves to cuddle with his brother.
Barrett doesn't mind it too much either. They are so cute together.
Since we only have a 2 bedroom apt. the boys share a room, which Wesson loves and does a great job at letting Barrett sleep and not bugging him. Wesson also sleeps through all the crying during the night.
Here is Barrett and one month. He looks so much older and filled out out since we was born.
He still continues to be such a patience lay back baby. Which I and so thankful for. I don't know how I could deal with a colic baby right now. In that respect I'm glad he is not like his brother.
I am back at work. I got an extra week off, due to having my baby the start of spring break. I got three weeks off and then work for two days one week, then followed it with working a three day week, then back to full time. It's hard, but not too hard. I am tired and have to have a nap everyday to stay happy and to make it to bed time. It's great having Wesson back on his normal schedule. He is doing good with the whole new baby thing still, but does seek so attention through pleading and whining.
Easter 2011
Even though we don't like hard boiled eggs. I had Wesson dye some, because what's Easter without dying Eggs?!
Wesson had lots of fun, and ended up with multi-colored hands. Hey! It's a lot easier if you just grab the egg with your hands and forget about the spoon!
We also had a BBQ/ Adult Easter Egg Hunt/ Wesson's Birthday. Meaning we had a lot of people meet at a park and had hotdogs and hamburgers. Then I had my brother hide eggs for the adults to find (there were only about 5 kids who could search for eggs). My brother went crazy hiding them, and we didn't find most of them. He hid them in ravines, in trees, and under leaves! We had to call him back to help us find the rest of the eggs we missed!
Here is a Easter/ Birthday cake I made for the occasion.
It ended up being really cold, so we ditched the park and hreaded over to our friends house. Who was gracious enough to let us crash there last minute. Here is most of everyone who came.
Here are some pictures from Easter morning!
Here is Wesson in is Sunday best. I was too lazy this year to make something for him. So Kent pick up something at Wal-mart.
Which ended up matching Barrett's!! Here are two of my handsome boys!!
We then had Easter Dinner over at my SIL house, where the kids had a small Easter Egg Hunt.

March
We hit the park on one of our warmer days.
My parents brought back citrus from AZ!!! Wesson loves Grapefruit!
Barrett got him first bath! He hated it!
We watch Conference.--Wait that's April.
Worked on sharing (or not sharing) our toys!
3 Years Old!!!
While I'm at it... here is an update on what my big boy has been up to:
* He thinks he is 5! He was playing with a boy in our ward who just turned 5 and the boy talked about how was 5 the whole time. So now he thinks he is 5 too!
* He loves discussing where the food is at in your body. If its in your throat, belly, or mouth. This leads to interesting conversations about Barrett and his food, and how he gets it.
* He still hates loud noises.
* He will now lay down in the bathtub and get his hair wet. He still throws fits when we wash his hair. But maybe this year he will actually climb in his swimming pool and play, instead of using it like a water table.
* He loves building train tracks.
* He favorite game is chase, and loves to run away from you!
* He still hates coloring, painting, or an form of art. In nursery when it is time to color, he will run away whining "No coloring! Please!"
* He loves Letters and is always pointing them out and tell me the sound they make.
* He loves book and being read to.
* Recently he has started making up songs and loves to sing, especially if it is in a microphone. Though the microphone usually need a good airing out when he is done singing. Be believe he can't sing in it, unless it's in his mouth!
* He loves playing the PBS computer games.
