Christmas 2009!!!

So I'm finally getting around to posting about Christmas a week or two late. Our Christmas this year was a little different than usual. First off all of my family except my brother Levi went to Az, so we didn't celebrate Christmas with them. Then on Christmas Eve we got hit with a Blizzard that lasted three days after two days of freezing rain!! It was crazy!! Kent had to work Christmas Eve  and on the way home he crashed my car into a snow bank. Merry Christmas to me!! Well, I should be lucky that he crashed it into the snow bank instead of on coming traffic. But, now I am missing half of my front bumper. We then managed to make the 30 hour drive to my in laws, where we hurried and ate a delicious dinner and opened our gifts (because we knew the chances of us getting back there the next day were slim to none). Wesson had no desire to open gifts, he just wanted to run around with his cousins. Here is one of the many christmas projects I've been working on.

I made her a princess rag quilt. You can't see it well, but the middle square has the princesses on it. I hope she enjoys it.

Christmas day we slept in and then didn't even get around to opening gifts until about 9:30. We then took our time opening gifts. As we had guess, the roads were too bad to even get out of our parking spot. This time Wesson enjoyed opening his gifts and then stop to play with it. We eventually had to hide it, so he would start opening another one. He got lots of great gifts. His favorite one is his ride on airplane from Grandma and Grandpa Thorne.

I also made Wesson a wooden kitchen set ( well I total refinished a wooden set that I got for $5). But due to the weather it never left my mom's house and currently still is in their living room! I'll post pictures when it makes the move to our apt.
The rest of the day we just hanged around. It was pretty boring, until my brother came over. Somehow he made it out and drove to our house, but had to park and hike in a 1/2 mile to get to us. What a brother!!! We played a couple of games with him before he had to leave to try to make it home again. That pretty much sums up our Christmas.
We had house guest from Christmas eve until New years day! We had lots of fun hanging out with them, when they were around (they spent a lot of their time over at their families house) Wesson fell in love with them and walked around the house calling for them when they were gone. He even refused to sit with me During sacrament meeting, because he wanted to sit with David and Talina. Oh, and here is a side note. Sunday we only had one sacrament meeting held for the whole stake!!! And it was only sacrament!!! That tells you how bad this storm was. And it had stopped snowing by then!!  But here are some pictures of Wesson hanging out with David and Talina.

Here is David and Talina. We have lots of history with them. They started dating the same time as Kent and I, in fact Kent even asked Talina on a date or two! The four of us (along with some others) had a great summer together! They got married about 6 months before us, but tagged along with us on our Honeymoon to Disney World!!! We would met up during the day and have a blast all day long! For some of you who this this might be weird, it wasn't! It was the best!!!!

David taught Wesson to cuddle on command! This is a big thing, because Wesson does not cuddle, and has never liked cuddling!!!

Here they are hanging out watching Caillou. For some reason Wesson has picked up on in and loves it!

Here is David and Wesson  wearing matching shirts that they both just happen to have. Wesson loved it! In fact I tried taking it off and Wesson through the biggest fit. The only person she could take it off him was David.

Here is David teaching Wesson all about the guitar. David would make up song about Wesson and Wesson would just be laughing his head off!!! It was so funny!! But now they are gone and Wesson still will ask for them and will bless them when he says his prayers at night. Usually the blessing go " Bless David, and bless Talina, and Bless Daddy, and Bless David" by this time I usually remind him to "Bless Mommy". I'm sure Wesson will be happy to see them again when we head out to Utah and the end of the month!!!!

Oh, wow! My son has the exact same rugby shirt that Wesson is wearing. The photos of him cuddling looked soo similar to some that we have.
